10 Malagasy students of Master’s Degree and Internship Program of African Business Education Initiative for Youth attended this event hosted by JICE and JICA to meet with Japanese companies, while the Embassy had an exhibition stand.

December 7, 2016: SADC lecture series with TUFS ( Tokyo University of Foreign Studies )
The Chargé d’Affaires a.i of Madagascar Embassy gave lecture to Tokyo University of Foreign Studies (TUFS) under SADC lecture series program for this scholarship year. Before the lecture, the Chargé d’Affaires paid a courtesy call to the President of TUFS and took commemoration photo with the President and Professors of the University. It was an opportunity to deepen the mutual understanding through exchange and interaction with students, future generation.

November 7 to November 12, 2016 : 52nd International Tropical Timber Council (ITTC-52) in Yokohama
The Charge d’Affaires a.i of Madagascar Embassy participated on the fifty-second of the International Tropical Timber Council (ITTC-52), and the Associated Sessions of four Committees: Finance and Administration; Economics Statistics and Markets; Forest Industry, and Reforestration and Forest Management from 7 to 12 November 2016. Madagascar joined his first conference with ITTC after ratification of the International Tropical Timber Agreement 2006 on 27 October 2016.
October 27, 2016: Southern Africa Safari at FCCJ Tokyo
Madagascar Embassy in Tokyo participated on “Southern Africa Safari” hosted by The Foreign Correspondent’s Club of Japan in cooperation with SADC Embassies in Tokyo. The booth of Madagascar displayed Tourism Information, and shared to the guests Madagascar chocolate and cookies with vanilla flavor.

The Chancery of the Embassy of Madagascar in Tokyo held with success “Made in Madagascar Exhibition” on 4th to 5th October 2016 followed by “Madagascar Business Seminar” on 6th October 2016 in Akasaka . It was an opportunity to discover attractive High Quality Products from Madagascar. Almost hundred Japanese businessmen had opportunity to interact and building partnership with Malagasy operators on essential oil, handicraft, tourism.

August 5, 2015- Donation by the Social Artist Network Association of Japan of 162,000 Japanese yen value for children and young Malagasy football players, called “Become One” or in Malagasy “Mampitambatra ho iray ny baolina Kitra”, took held at the headquarters of the Malagasy Football Federation (FMF), through the Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in the presence of the Chargé d’Affaires a.i. of the Embassy of Madagascar in Japan, FMF General Secretary and President of the League of Analamanga.
As part of the implementation of its Grassroots Project dedicated to entertain and educate children them through mini-games of football, the Football League Analamanga being the beneficiary of the Donation, to deliver balloons football, jerseys and bibs.

La visite de courtoisie de la Délégation Malagasy auprès des Autorités japonaises le 11 juin 2015, conduite par Son Excellence Madame ATALLAH Béatrice, Ministre des Affaires Etrangères, revitalise et témoigne les bonnes relations existantes entre Madagascar et le Japon.
Le Chef de la Diplomatie Malagasy a saisi cette occasion pour transmettre aux Autorités japonaises le message du Président de la République de Madagascar sur le report de la visite présidentielle programmée au Japon qui ne change en rien à la volonté des deux parties de se coopérer.
Par ailleurs, la présence du Chef de la Diplomatie Malagasy au forum spécialement dédié à Madagascar intitulé « Madagascar Investment Forum » le 11 juin 2015 à Tokyo, qui a vu la présence d’une centaine de représentants d’opérateurs économiques et investisseurs japonais, renforce d’avantage les liens économiques entre les deux pays.
The courtesy visit of the Malagasy delegation to the Japanese authorities led by HEMrs ATALLAH Beatrice, Foreign Minister, on June 11, 2015, revitalizes and reflects existing good relations between Madagascar and Japan.
The Minister took the opportunity to convey to the Japanese authorities the message of the President of the Republic of Madagascar on the postponement of the scheduled presidential visit to Japan that does not change the will of both parties to cooperate.
Furthermore, the presence of the Chief of Diplomacy Malagasy specially dedicated to the Madagascar forum entitled “Madagascar Investment Forum” , held on June 11, 2015 in Tokyo, with hundred representatives of traders and Japanese investors attendees, strengthens advantage of the economic ties between the two countries.

June 22, 2015- Visit and interaction with students from Seiwa junior school. Madagascar Embassy has been chosen by the students for their study tour in Tokyo for learning on foreign country. They were amazed on Madagascar beautiful nature.
May 28-30, 2015 - A Delegation headed by Minister LALAHARISAINA Joëli Valérien, Minister at the Presidency in charge of Mining and Petroleum attended the “The Second Japan-Africa Ministerial Meeting for Resources Development – JAMM2 hosted by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) of Japan and the “J-SUMIT2 or the Japan Sustainable Mining, Investment and Technology Business Forum” hosted by JOGMEC (Japan Oil, Gas and Metals National Corporation).
May 12, 2015- Active participation of the Embassy of Madagascar in Tokyo to International Day at TBC Shibuya by the Chargé d’Affaires a.i and Spouse.
There was roughly about 150 students from Tamagawa Seigakuin – Girls school with their teachers visited Madagascar booth. It was a great opportunity for the Embassy to show Madagascar attractive places and to share Malagasy culture with these young generation.

In cooperation with the Japan Committee for UNICEF and the FNS (Fuji television and Network Stations), this year’s FNS charity campaign* have chosen to raise fund in order to support children in need in Madagascar.

The launching of the 2015 campaign of FNS was marked by an event called “Spring Charity Concert in OSAKA”, the 25 April 2014 from 11:00-17:00 (For more information please visit http://www.ktv.jp/csr/event/pdf/madagascar.pdf) during which the Embassy of the Republic of Madagascar represented by the Economic and Commercial Counsellor has been associated for this friendly and solidarity event at the headquarter of Kansai TV in Osaka with the participations of local artists such as the producer of “Guitar Madagascar Movie” and the Japan Committee for UNICEF in OSAKA by exposing Madagascar products and goodies to be sold as part of the fundraising activities.
The Embassy of the Republic of Madagascar in Japan is very thankful for the sustained efforts of Japan Committee for UNICEF and praises this FNS’s corporate social responsibility and generous action of the National Museum of Ethnology by choosing Madagascar to benefit this Year’s charity campaign.

March 14-18, 2015 - Malagasy official Delegation headed by HE Minister MAHAFALY Solonandrasana Olivier Jocelyn has participated for the Third United Nations World Conference in Sendai.
It was an opportunity for Madagascar to share its statement regarding post Hyogo Framework Action, as well as its commitments on Disaster risk reduction and resilience building measures.

March 4th, 2015 - Visit and cultural exchange with Yanaka Junior High School at the Embassy of Madagascar in Tokyo welcomed by the counsellor
February 26, 2015 – The Embassy of Madagascar hosted a seminar organized by Club Tourism International Corp. in cooperation with Air Madagascar Tokyo. A presentation about Madagascar and the different Tours have been made, and the participant had the opportunity to taste “Aye-Aye” coffee and Madagascar cookies with Vanilla flavor.
February 2 – 6, 2015 - The International Center for Petroleum Exploration and Production “ICEP” in collaboration of the Embassy of Madagascar in Japan held in Tokyo an international event named “ICEP International Seminar – The Republic of Madagascar” allowing to Representatives from the Madagascar’s Ministry at the Presidency in charge of Strategic Resources and the OMNIS to share to Japanese Investors information on “the Current status and Future Outlook for Oil and Gas Exploration & Development and Production in the Republic of Madagascar”.

January 22nd, 2015 - Akashi Josai Senior High School from Hyogo Prefecture with their teacher visited the Embassy of the Republic of Madagascar to Japan in Tokyo, and they are welcomed by the Counsellor at the Embassy.
The students had a great time to known deeply about Madagascar. There was a presentation of Madagascar for its attractive places to visit, loved by Japanese tourists, and sharing Madagascar culture, customs…., and exchanging views with students. At the end of their visit, the students had opportunity to see some hand craft and souvenir of Madagascar at the exhibition room “vitrine de Madagascar” at 2nd floor of the Embassy.

December 8-13, 2014 - Visit of the Minister of Fishery, Mr AHMAD in Japan under the invitation of the Overseas Fishery Corporation Foundation (OFCF) to discuss the tightening of bilateral cooperation on fisheries between the two countries. After five years of suspension, cooperation projects with OFCF resumed this 2014 fiscal year.

December 3, 2014 - Madagascar Embassy as a member of TICAD Joint Monitoring Committee participates at the JICA and UNDP Symposium on “Africa’s Structural Transformation –from strategy to action” at United Nations University, Tokyo.
November 21, 2014 - Madagascar Embassy co-organized with the Yokohama National University a Special Seminar themed “Madagascar – Sustainable Future” to mark the celebration of the 10th Anniversary of Academic Exchange Agreement between Yokohama National University and the University of Antananarivo. The Economic Counsellor and the Tourism Attaché have given the occasion to present “opportunities and challenges of Madagascar – the richness and diversity of its nature and culture”.
November 21-22, 2014 – The Embassy of Madagascar participated in the 5th Minato City Fair of Manufacturing, Commerce and Tourism Festival in Roppongi Hills under the patronage of the Mayor of Minato City, in cooperation with Air Madagscar Tokyo and the Malagasy Diaspora.

November 10-12, 2014 – Participation of Madagascar in the UNESCO World Conference on Education for Sustainable Development (EDD) in Aichi Nagoya. Madagascar had the opportunity to share actions and his vision about EDD policy to make a better earth for the future generation.
November 3, 2014- SADC Lecture Series 2014. This is the third year of lecture given by Counsellor RATODISOA to the Students of the renowned Waseda University. The success of the peaceful resolution of political crisis in Madagascar and the challenges of social and economic recovery was the focus of the presentation and question and answers.
October 28, 2014 - Madagascar Embassy participates as a co-organizer with the SADC Ambassadors Committee the Southern Africa Forum 2014 (Mainichi Forum), discussing on “Southern Africa’s Present and Future and its Relationship with Japan”. October 7, 2014 - The Embassy of Madagascar is co-organizinig with the SADC Ambassadors Committee, for the first time at the Chamber of Commerce in OSAKA, the “SADC Trade, Investment and Tourism Seminar 2014”. The Topic this year was “Exploring the Trade, Investment and Tourism Opportunities in the SADC Region”. Mr Andonirina RATODISOA, Economic and Commercial Counsellor headed the Madagascar’s Delegation, accompagnied by Mr Sedera RANDRIANJAFY, Attaché. During this occasion, a Madagascar’s Booth has been exhibited; in addition, the Ambatovy Nickel Project has been proudly showcased as a success story of the SADC Region in terms of Japan’s investment.

August 1, 2014, Launching of the UNICEF’s Campaign of TAP Project in Japan 2014 in Setagaya-FutakoTamagawa Rise Galleria.
This UNICEF Project with the aim for “clean water for every child” will benefit the people of Madagascar – Vangaindrano District. The Embassy of Madagascar in Japan has been supporting and giving opening speech during the press event since 2009. This year’s fundraising activities include a month collaboration of more than 400 restaurants and café through money collected from donation boxes; 1,000 holes of donation box exhibited at Rise Gallerie during one week; online fundraising and a fundraising action with the patronage of a famous baseball player.
