4. Visa application

Monday to Friday, 9:30 – 12:00 & 14:00 – 16:00

  1. For a short stay (up to 90 days):tourists and business travellers

    2. You need to bring the following to the Embassy:

    • a completed and signed application form Download here
    • a passport, valid for 6 months at least and with two free pages at least for the visa
    • one ID photo (5cm x 5 cm)
    • a letter from your travel agency showing itinerary information

      • NB: Visa fees of 12,665 yen must be paid upon application.

      Business travellers

    • In addition to the above, a recommendation letter from your company or an invitation letter from Madagascar

    It is possible to get a temporary short visa at the airport/port of disembarkation but you have to apply for extension within 72 hours after the date of entry at the Ministry of Interior or at a police station (if your airport/port of disembarkation is outside Antananarivo)

  2. For immigrant visa and permanent visa, please contact the Embassy.

  3. Courtesy visa for diplomats / officials

    4. You need to bring the following to the Embassy:

    • a note verbale from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs
    • a valid diplomatic or official passport
